Because converters are a frequent target for theft, Utah law requires us to verify ownership before we can buy one — so there are a few simple things to bring.
We’ve been recycling scrap metal in Taylorsville since 1984. Bring your meters in — no appointment needed — and we’ll weigh, grade, and pay you on the spot.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO BRING
A valid U.S. ID
A state-issued ID, driver’s license, military ID, or U.S. passport.
AND
Proof of ownership for the converter
Either the title of the vehicle it came off of, or a repair receipt showing where it was removed.
Without proof of ownership, we cannot purchase a catalytic converter. This protects everyone and keeps stolen converters out of the market.
