Redwood Recycling isn’t just known for its convenience, helpfulness, and friendly staff, we are also very competitive with our metal prices to ensure you get the most for your metals. Check out our most commonly accepted items and their current market rates.

NOTICE: Prices listed below are for smaller quantities of metal (generally below 200 pounds). For larger loads, contact us to see if you qualify for higher pricing.

Prices are based on current commodity markets and are subject to change.

Aluminum Cans

$0.47 per pound

Any aluminum beverage container that has been emptied of its contents and is uncontaminated in any form.

Aluminum Siding

$0.53 per pound

Thin aluminum house siding, rain gutters, fascia, etc. May have paint but must be free of staples, nails or other contaminates.

Aluminum Extrusion

$0.67 per pound

Consisting of window frames, door frames, structural type aluminum, with no contamination.  Must be 6063 series aluminum.

Blue Painted-Extruded-Aluminum

Painted Extrusion

$0.60 per pound

Same as regular extruded aluminum, however, may contain small amounts of paint, caulking, weather stripping, dirt, etc.

Aluminum Clip (MLC)

$0.56 per pound

Most common grade of aluminum. Mixture of various aluminum alloys. Consists of plate, bar, solids, chunks or machined parts. Must be free of contamination, paint, nails, screws, etc. Misc. aluminum will fall into this category.

Painted Aluminum Clip (PNTC)

$0.52 per pound

Same as regular clip, however, may contain small amounts of paint, caulk or coatings. Clip aluminum is a mixture of various aluminum alloys. Consists of plate, bar, solids, chunks or machined parts.

Cast-Aluminum

Aluminum Cast

$0.48 per pound

Cast is an aluminum alloy that has been poured or “cast” into shape. This can include car parts and other mechanical parts used in aerospace or manufacturing. A higher zinc, copper or magnesium content contributes to the pricing for this type of aluminum.

Old Sheet Aluminum

$0.48 per pound

Thin gauge aluminum sheets. Often with paint on it. Must be free of iron, foil, venetian blinds, castings, hair wire, screen wire, food or beverage containers, radiator shells, airplane sheet, bottle caps, plastic, dirt, and other non-metallic items.

Bright and Shiny Copper

$3.30 per pound

Copper wire that is shiny in its appearance. No contamination in any form. Must be thicker than a pencil lead. (10 Ga.)

#1 Copper

$3.20 per pound

Clean, uncontaminated, no paint, solder, insulation, dirt, etc. Can be tubing or wire. Wire must be bare & thicker than a pencil lead.

#2 Copper

$3.00 per pound

Copper that has paint, dirt, solder, corrosion, etc. Insulated copper is not accepted as #2 copper. Can be tubing or wire. Bare wire under pencil lead thickness is accepted.

Insulated #1 Copper Wire

$1.70 per pound

Insulated copper wire that is 14 gage or thicker (1/14 inch). If wire is stranded, each wire must be 1/14” or thicker. Must have a copper recovery of 70% or more. Most single jacket wire will be classified as #1 wire.

Insulated #2 Copper Wire

$1.15 per pound

Insulated copper wire smaller than 16 gage (1/16 inch) and has a copper recovery of 50% – 60%. The copper wire may be coated by tin or nickel. Most multiple jacket wire will be classified as #2 wire.

Strippable Copper Wire

$2.55 per pound

Copper wire that is at least .5” thick with one layer of rubber or plastic insulation. Each wire strand should thicker than the width of a penny. At least 70% recoverable copper.

Yellow Brass

$1.95 per pound

Brass that has a yellowish look in appearance. Commonly valves, meters, faucets. No contamination. Free of iron, paint, plastic, washers, glass, etc.

Red Brass

$2.20 per pound

Brass that looks reddish in appearance. Has a higher copper content. Commonly valves, meters, faucets. No Contamination. Free of iron, paint, plastic, washers, glass, etc. (78% – 82% Copper)

Sprinkler Brass

$1.60 per pound

Brass that comes from sprinkler fixtures. It’s mixture of Brass/Copper & Steel sets it apart from other brass items.

Lead Acid Batteries

$0.16 per pound

Lead acid batteries are often used in cars, trucks, forklifts, and other vehicles. They must not be steel cased.

Aluminum Wheels

$0.66 per pound

Redwood Recycling accepts wheel rims but NOT TIRES. Wheels with valve stems, plastic, or wheel weights will have a lower price. Pricing for steel wheels can be found in the steel/tin/iron section below.

Radiators

$0.44-$1.70 per pound

Radiators can be made of aluminum, copper, or a mixture of both.  Our expert metal buyers will be able to tell you what you have and pay you accordingly. Make sure it is drained of all liquids though.

Utah Metal Recycling Electric Motors Copper

Electric Motors & Transformers

$0.19-$0.22 per pound

Electric motors & transformers are made of a combination of copper wire and tin. Pricing will depend on the content of each metal.

Stainless Steel Bucket

Stainless Steel (304)

$0.26 per pound

The most common grade of stainless steel, often found in appliances, kitchenware, and other home use. Has a slight magnetic pull but magnet will not stick. For full price, must be free of iron, plastic, rubber, and other contaminants.

Stainless Steel (316): A durable and corrosion-resistant alloy made of iron, chromium, and nickel. Ideal for various applications

Stainless Steel (316)

$0.64 per pound

This stainless steel grade is more commonly used in high-temperature and industrial applications. Has a slight magnetic pull, but magnet will not stick. For full price, must be free of iron, plastic, rubber, and other contaminants.

Tin Steel Scrap Pile

Steel/Tin/Iron

$35 per net ton

This includes structural steel, heavy melting steel, as well as light iron or sheet metal. Also known as ferrous items and are the only items on this page that will stick to a magnet.
